Sausage dog cushion!

I'm so happy I've finally finished this cushion. I appliqued him onto the nice upcycled table cloth ages ago and could never decide exactly what to do with him! Now he has a lovely piece of vintage floral fabric as a back and is ready for a new home! You can find him now in my shop!

Creating a little cat cusion

I've been asked to create a little cat cushion for my friends mums birthday. I'm excited because I love making cushions with animal designs. She would like oranges, yellows and browns and some floral fabric. I've created two cat cushions, which are on my Esty shop, but they are both darker colours. I'm looking forward to making a more summery bright cat!

I've been looking around for some inspiration and have come across so many lovely designs....

I came across these lovely magnets by Paper Pumpkin when I was thinking about an orange/yellow/brown colour scheme. These have all the right colours but are still lovely and natural looking, not too garish!

I love this vintage fabric bird by leJeune. It's so sweet! I want my cat to look as perfect as this little bird!

These little cats are also lovely and use vintage fabrics! They're by
Jane Foster and have such cute faces!

I'm inspired! Off to get started!

I love making cards rather than buying them, so here's a little picture of a card and birthday cake brooch I made for my friend Danielle!

Hope you all like it!

Finally on Twitter!

I love Twitter! I signed up, tweeted and sold my first item on the same day! Sooo happy!

Folksy shop open!

I'm excited! I've just opened my Folksy shop. It's called Roses from Thorns of course and currently has the little green hanging chick for sale. Folksy is a great site and is basically a UK version of Etsy. It's nice to see other UK sellers and to find out if selling via a UK site will be successful. Fingers crossed!

Another little chick!

As the chicks are being born at the farm where I work Edinburgh, I've been making more of my own! This new little green chick has a button eye, a new development from the previous woolen eyed chicks. He is also more colourful than my usual work. He's now for sale in my Etsy shop!
